Soldiers Three
Watched this today on TCM. Great stuff! Stewart Granger, Walter Pidgeon and David Niven among others. Funny....I'm a sucker for these movies, comedy or drama, about the British and their military exploits...
The Golden Mask
Caught this movie recently on TCM. I couldn't help but wonder what it would look like if it was restored as the colors were all washed out. It is a technicolor movie and with the locations where it was shot I'm sure it was glorious at the time of its' release.

Beach Boys-Endless Harmony
Watched this on the Ovation channel over the weekend. Great stuff!
To me it points out how different the group was without Brian. In addition to his voice he was the genius in the studio that they sorely missed without him.

The Four Feathers from Criterion!
http://www.criterion.com/films/27555-the-four-feathers
Great news! The 1939 version of The Four Feathers is getting the royal treatment from the Criterion Collection. Please follow link to the Criterion site.
The Four Feathers is a timeless story of facing your inner demons, cowardice, bravery, and love. Set in the desert, and filmed in glorious technicolor, it is a must see film.
I'm looking forward to the commentary track and the other goodies so I can learn more about this film I love.

One of my favorite movies...
This movie was filmed in Spain. Who knew it could snow like this in Spain. (Yes it was real snow)
In addition, they built a life size replica of the roman forum. They even built interiors for the buildings that they did not plan to shoot inside! Needless to say, it was extremely expensive and was part of the reason for the downfall of the epic movie at that time. I encourage you to find the two disc special edition. It's fantastic! Full of great extras. The commentary is also very worthwhile which is difficult to imagine when you keep in mind that this is a lengthy epic...

The Indian Hills Theatre
http://www.indianhillstheatre.com/
Now that I mentioned the Indian Hills, I thought I should provide some information just in case any visitors do not know about our beloved Indian Hills. It was torn down on August 20, 2001, one day before my birthday. I provided a link to a website about this great theatre. The pictures on the website are good but don't really do the place justice. Shall I tell you the movies I saw there? Dr. Zhivago, Lawrence of Arabia, Ben-Hur, Jaws, The Bible, How the West Was Won, Ice Station Zebra, Reds, I can go on and on.
What a loss...
